The future of pathology in Pakistan relies on the dedication and innovation of its trainees, and the association is committed to supporting their growth and development. 

This year, we are excited to welcome members from our affiliated societies, including the Histopathology Cytopathology Society Pakistan (HCSP), Pakistan Society of Clinical Pathology (PSCP), Pakistan Hematology society (PSH), Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP), Pakistan Society of Immunology (PSI), the Association of Molecular Pakistan, Oral Pathology Society, and the Pakistan Society of Virology. 

The theme for this year's conference is “Pathology Meets AI; Innovation, challenges & Future Directions.”

It is a great pleasure to thank all the organizers of 46th Annual Conference of the Pakistan Association of Pathologists and 11th Joint Conference of Societies of Pathology. I feel gratified to work with talented members of Scientific Committee, who represented eight different societies of Pathology. In a remarkable level of dedication and enthusiasm, all these members left no stone unturned to make the scientific programme of this conference a success.

I want to congratulate Prof Sohail Chughtai, Prof Muhammad Dilawar, Dr Hijab and other organizers who work tirelessly to keep their tradition of arranging a successful scientific conference at the great city of Lahore and we commend their hard work and dedication. Under the guidance of Prof Mulazzim Hussain Bukhari, President PAP and his talented team, we managed an excellent educational and research event. We did our best to arrange the talks of National and International speakers keeping in mind the theme of the conference, and enlighten our new and old generation about the current and upcoming advantages and challenges of digital revolution like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Learning Models (LLMs) and Prompt Engineering.

Present conference is yet another manifestation of unity and oneness of the Pathology community, for which it is well-known. Various disciplines of Pathology have been successful in keeping the candle of knowledge and skill burning and provide a beacon of light to other specialties. With the generation of this amazing scientific material, we have proved that Pathologists and Pathology Departments are the real think-tank of any institute or hospital.

This conference will go long way to lead our new generation about the scientific progress in the understanding of the disease process and management. We offer our best wish, whole-hearted support and unwavering resolve to make this conference a success.
